Intercede-intervene on behalf of another
  In court lawyers will intercede for their client.
Hackneyed-(of a phrase or idea) lacking significance through having been overused
  The word YOLO became so hackneyed that people stopped using it.
Approbation-approval or praise
  Simone Biles received a high approbation from the judges.
Innuendo-an allusive or oblique remark or hint, suggestive or disparaging one

Coalition-an alliance for combined action, especially a temporary alliance of political parties forming a government or of states.

  The Brexit elicited some responses from Europe.

  One should give a hiatus when remembering a loss
Assuage-make (an unpleasant feeling) less intense
  Receiving a call from my brother assuaged the concerns of my mom.
Decadence-moral or cultural decline as characterized by excessive indulgence in pleasure or luxury.
  Through out his childhood he was never surrounded by decadence.
Expostulate-express strong disapproval or disagreement.
  Some people expostulate with trump and hillary being the official presidential nominee.
Simulate-imitate the appearance or character of
  Many people simulate Shakespeare's style of writing. 
Jaded-tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something.
  Watching Suicide Squad for the fourth time got me jaded.
Umbrage-offense or annoyance
  I find it umbrage when my sister keeps asking the same question.
Prerogative-a right or privilege exclusive to a particular individual or class.
  We have the prerogative to protest and speak whats on my mind.
Lurid-very vivid in color, especially so as to create an unpleasantly harsh or unnatural effect.
  A crime scene is very lurid.
Transcend-be or go beyond the range or limits of (something abstract, typically a conceptual field or division).
  Henry transcended the speed limit. 
Provincial-of or concerning a province of a country or empire.
  There are "provincial elections"
Petulant-(of a person or their manner) childishly sulky or bad-tempered.
  I get in a petulant we someone wakes me up.
Unctuous-(of a person) excessively or ingratiatingly flattering; oily.
  She said it in an unctuous way.
Meritorious-deserving reward or praise.
  Simone Biles won four gold medals which was definitely a meritorious.
