EMERSON'S CHILD

Shell shocking is one word to describe the presidential election. How could an awful human being who calls Mexicans rapists and Muslims terrorists be elected as our president of the United States. Well, he won and there is nothing we can do about it. He will represent America for the next four years, whether we like it or not, he will be our president. During the election, many Americans were excited for he was going to win, while others cringed as states would turn red. After hours of waiting for who will become the next president of the United States, Republican Donald Trump claimed victory over Democratic presidential Hillary Clinton. As many celebrated many cried, angry and scared. What will happen next? How did he win? This is impossible, it must be rigged. There is way in hell this clown won. But how when he clashed many with awful comment, shouldn't he be hated than liked. Well all of the hate led him to this success. Donald Trump used Emerson's Self Reliance. Emerson said "Be yourself" and that’s exactly what Mr. Trump did. He spoke with no intention what so ever. He spoke with no thought of what society thinks. He was himself. As individuals, I think Emerson would want us to be ourselves. In order to succeed in life we must do things our way. Just like Mr. Trump. Many are shell shocked due to the shown results. Many are furious and upset while others are jumping up and down. I know my community is very upset, angry and sell shocked. I think that Emerson would want us to move on. Emerson said "Society is a wave. The wave moves onward, but the water of which it is composed does not." Emerson would want us as a community to change and move onward. Our views of Trump may remain the same but we as a community should move forward. We must be opened minded and change as a community. There is a tremendous division between Republicans and Democrats, which creates a lot of tensions in this country. And as a country I think Emerson would want us to set aside the political differences and unite as one for there shall be no destruction in this country. Still remain free for what this country is known for. We should move on accept the fact that Trump will be our president for the next four years or maybe eight years, who knows. I mean he did win this election. Ultimately, we should be self-reliant as told by Emerson. To do what we as individuals want to do. To be ourselves.
