AN EARTH SHATTERING FART
"A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury was an interesting short story. I liked the fact that the story included dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs, they're amazing. Its based on time traveling and sort of reminded me of Jurassic Park. I freaking love that movie. The story is about a guy who paid thousands of dollars to go back in time and kill a dinosaur. But you must follow the rules, you cannot step out of the path for you will be killed. And that's exactly what Eckels did. He stepped out of the path in which they told him not too and stepped on a butterfly. And once they arrived back the time period changed and Eckels was killed.

My Emerson

For the project, I will be doing it as a group with kissel and Eldrin. We will each provide a quote that we think about emerson that we found interesting. And whether we agree or disagree with him. And we will provide our project in a poster but we will each have a way in which we would like to write it.

EMERSON FOR THE YOUNG BUCK
Hey there young fella, have you heard of a guy named Emerson. Well he's an awesome person. And have you heard of his famous essay called "Self Reliance." Your probably thinking who the heck is this person? and is he someone famous? Well Emerson is a person who writes essays and is a poet, in which he is famous for. Well he wrote this essay about being yourself; that you should trust yourself and do whatever you want whenever you want. Do not follow the crowd, do what you feel is right for you and not what your friends do. Today many young folks are trying to be like each other so they can fit in. Many young folks tend to follow the trend, like the juju dance and wearing brand clothing's, just to fit in. But then we will all end up being the same. And wouldn't that just be boring. Wouldn't you like to be different; to be yourself. Do what makes you happy not what others want you to be. It's better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not. Be yourself.

EMERSON SAID IT
"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself"
This quote is probably one of Emerson's powerful quotes. Emerson gives this idea of individuality. Who else can bring peace in our life but ourselves. We human beings are the ones who can bring peace, beauty, and harmony into this world; this life. This came up on the Socratic seminar because we discussed Emerson's idea of being self reliant; being thyself. To believe in yourself.

"Every heart vibrates to the iron string" In this quote Emerson claims that as human beings we should listen to our instincts. To trust your own feelings, to do what you desire to do. We tend to do what society pressures us to do than to be different. yet we tend to be like everybody else. We need to be ourselves and show who we truly are.

"Meantime nature is not slow to equip us in the prison-uniform of the party to which we adhere"
In this quote Emerson is addressing that we humans are like prisoners to society. Prisoners are to follow orders, just how society pressures us to do certain things.

"We but have express ourselves, and we are ashamed of that divine idea which each of us represents." In this quote Emerson states that we have a hard time showing what we truly are. And we tend to do what society pressures us to do. The fact that we are too terrified to show our uniqueness to the world. 

"To be great is to be misunderstood''
In this quote Emerson means that to be misunderstood is great. To believe in what you want to believe is great, even though some may disagree.
